Ahoy Ship Mateys!
Alright, so here's what happened today. For those of you listening in and rocking out--totally blown away by the impending sound cloud of doom, I sincerely apologize. I've been having some technical issues that have plagued me off and on since I got on this crazy ride. Ah, the joys of live radio! Don't worry my loves, got it all sorted now.
Tonight I was watching Almost Famous, my favorite Cameron Crowe film, and one of the chief reasons I decided to do this in the first place. It's like melted cheese--it brought together two of my favorite things: *REAL* Rock N Roll and Journalism. As most of you know, I originally wanted to write for big ticket newspapers, but since that is falling away--this seems the safer (and more fun) route.
Back to my story, I was telling dad that watching the movie was like a window in time. Concerts aren't like that anymore; people are too busy chasing the almighty dollar. The Girls don't want the music, just ownership of the said "celebrity", and when it gets right down to it, who is real anyway? (Adele gets a pass here...) My whole point is, I love the old days when tickets weren't astronomical, the bands had something real to say, and the parties were epic!
Now it's all just....fashion.
