Well, today turned out better than I ever thought possible. I got a brand new microphone--a Shure Super 55 microphone. It's amazing! I hope the sound was awesome today, I know the playback was great when I listened to it not too long before sitting down to write this. I can't tell you how much I enjoy this...it makes me smile to hear all the great feedback from you guys. I hope you enjoyed taking the psychedelic trip down memory lane with me as we looked back at The Monterey International Pop Festival, Woodstock and honored great venues like The Fillmore East & The Fillmore West (thank you, Bill Graham!) You know, one thing I forgot to mention, but an author friend of mine began publishing a series of Rock n Roll murder mysteries some time ago. The first being titled, "Ungrateful Dead: Murder at The Fillmore". I own this book, and I love it! It's written by Patricia Kennealy Morrison, and she does an excellent job of entertaining the reader with the suspense of a mystery novel, against a backdrop of a huge piece of Rock n Roll history. I can't say enough about it!

I decided I wouldn't publish last weeks show after the mishap, but you'll be able to nab this one as soon as possible. As I mentioned, here's the picture of my fancy microphone and ultra cool brake rotor stand! (see top of the post..)

Alright, so here's what happened today. For those of you listening in and rocking out--totally blown away by the impending sound cloud of doom, I sincerely apologize. I've been having some technical issues that have plagued me off and on since I got on this crazy ride. Ah, the joys of live radio! Don't worry my loves, got it all sorted now.

Tonight I was watching Almost Famous, my favorite Cameron Crowe film, and one of the chief reasons I decided to do this in the first place. It's like melted cheese--it brought together two of my favorite things: *REAL* Rock N Roll and Journalism. As most of you know, I originally wanted to write for big ticket newspapers, but since that is falling away--this seems the safer (and more fun) route.

Back to my story, I was telling dad that watching the movie was like a window in time. Concerts aren't like that anymore; people are too busy chasing the almighty dollar. The Girls don't want the music, just ownership of the said "celebrity", and when it gets right down to it, who is real anyway? (Adele gets a pass here...) My whole point is, I love the old days when tickets weren't astronomical, the bands had something real to say, and the parties were epic!

Now it's all just....fashion.
